 | About Me | Sep 29, 2008 |
For the second time, I was elected to the Philippine Senate in 2007 with the highest number of votes, an overwhelming show of support, trust and confidence in the kind of leadership that the Filipino people know me for. With great pride, therefore, I joyfully embark on this journey of public service that steers our nation back to the right course in our quest to become a great nation once again. In my visits throughout the country, I had repeatedly felt honored to stand witness to the best of who we are as a nation, as a people, as a community. And such priceless privilege is what continues to inspire me and encourage me to work hard as your public servant. Whether through vital pieces of legislation or civic-oriented programs, I endeavor to be able to touch the lives of the millions of Filipinos who voted for me. In these most challenging times, no kind thought, no good deed, no comforting word, no honorable intention is ever wasted. Each one that we give becomes part of a circle that moves, touches, and changes the life around us, and returns to us in a surprising multitude of miraculous echoes, so that even as we face the darkness of struggles, conflicts and indifference, we are able to find the strength to dream more daringly, serve more generously, hope more fervently and fearlessly live. For only by being united and steadfastly committed to one another can we conquer new heights and explore new horizons…. Sa tulong ng inyong walang-sawang suporta at pagmamahal, patuloy ko kayong paglilingkuran ng buong husay at katapatan, sa abot ng aking makakaya. Maraming salamat po! | Photos | Mar 4, 2010 |

USE HEAD NOT EMOTION --- ISSUES NOT RUMORS March 30, 2010
Since Independence in 1949, the country stagnated, from No. 2 at the top to No. 2 at the bottom, from P2 to $1 to P46 to $1. 70% of the population are poor with many in abject poverty and in subhuman condition. The country is abundantly blessed with rich natural resources in land and sea and the people are of world class talents from business executives to domestic helper. Nothing can justify this poverty. The problem is our government and in the center is the President of the Philippines !
We never had elected a right president. Instead of discussing legitimate issues like qualifications among others, our candidates purposely thrown character assassination rumors that misguided the voters.
In this election most vicious character assassination rumors were spread against Villar. Everybody is ganging him up as if it is orchestrated.
C-5 – Only recently Bro. Mike revealed that it was he who requested the diversion. Villar’s accusers all along knew this but intentionally withheld this information. They also withheld that the road is giving benefits to millions of travelers and the accusers senators all approved the project 4 times. The diversion benefitted many land owners in the area but the accusers make it appear it is only Villar.
That Villar will recoup his 2B expenditures if he win- Forbes magazine rated him 8th riches in the country, worth P30B. At 10% conservative profit he is richer by 3B yearly. 2B is nothing for his dream to be President. Noynoy, Erap and Gibo must spent a conservative hundreds of million each from their pocket, including their family. For them this amount is very substantial and a big dent to their wealth. These gentlemen are more prone to recoup their expenditures.
VIllar big spending campaign – The Americans practice the highest standard of political ethics. Obama spent $800M to Mcain’s $160M but they did not make this an issue.
Allegation of Enrile, Gordon and Jamby that Villar offered them billion as bribery – Gordon and Jamby is not worth a billion to bribe. Enrile is a multi billionaire. Who is in his right mind to bribe him ?
Villaroyo secret candidate of Gloria – Vice President Noli refused Gloria’s overture to be her candidate. So did Bong Revilla and Vilma Santos. Her cabinet secretaries stayed away from her senatorial slate. To be associated with her is a kiss of death in national election. Villar is not stupid to be her secret candidate. VIllar does not need Gloria. She’s more trouble than good to him. Villar knows this, everybody knows this. Expect more lies and rumors till election day.
All the major newspaper dailies and a TV network are bias pro Noynoy. They played up continuously rumors against Villar while only a passing remark on Hacienda Luisita cases against Noynoy and the pro Villar revelation of bro. Mike. The code of commitment of media is fair reporting. Democracy flourish and grows with a fair media but withers and dies if media is bias. The opponents of Villar and most of media practice the theory of Goebels and Hitler that a lie if repeated often can become a truth. Unfounded rumors and lie are the same. It is human weakness to be gullible. Goebel and Hitler fully exploited this weakness. It is the highest form of irresponsibility for political leaders to resort to this. In many previous elections politicians used character assassination rumors or black propaganda and this had misguided the voters.
3 Criteria / Qualification to use in choosing the President.
In filling up a job, it is important to discuss what qualifications and training best fitted. The position of President of the Philippines is a job.
1. A Successful Business Executive with the Vision of a Businessman.
If Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP) of PLDT will retire today, the replacement will be an experienced business executive with a vision of a businessman like him. Villar, Ayala, Henry Sy, Gokongwei and Danding Cojuangco are all like MVP. The Office of the President of the Philippines is like a business corporation similar to PLDT. It needs a Villar as President to succeed.
Graft and Corruption and abuses in the government. Graft and corruption is basically over pricing. In business this is easily controlled by systems or else the business can go bankrupt. Systems can also check and correct abuses in the government. Business executives like Villar are so adept with systems like fish to water.
Progress and Jobs Villar as president can create the condition conducive for business to flourish resulting in abundant jobs for the people and progress similar to Hongkong, Singapore and Taiwan.
We had tried 5 topnotch lawyers, generals, economists, housewife as President and all failed. Their intelligence and training is not fit for the presidency.
Let’s try a successful businessman for a change.
2. Honesty
The Presidency is a position with satanic temptation of riches and power that all previous 12 presidents had been tempted except maybe one or two. And one thing they had all in common was they were not immensely wealthy and no lucrative business like Villar.
Only Villar has the best chance to be an honest president. His wealth is land. If he can make the country prosper, his land will be many times more valuable or less value if he fails. Villar is accused only of business ethics but only a thin line separates ethics from making money. Making profit is the reward in business but the ethics must be – that the public gets full benefits from the profits business get. Thousands of travelers get benefits daily with the C-5 diversion road On the other hand his accusers are guilty of worst moral ethics. 1. Noynoy, Jamby, Gordon etc. accused Villar when they themselves all approved the C-5 Project 4 times over and also withheld that it was bro. Mike who requested the diversion. They are misguiding the voters. 2. Noynoy kept silent on cases involving Hacienda Luisita. a. Exempted from the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program. b. Tenants who opposed were openly or mysteriously killed. c. A special SCTEX exit road inside the hacienda was built. The government paid them P80M while other similar special exit road the government instead received P250M. d. The tenants were not even given their share of the P80M they received. 3. Noynoy and the late Cory refused to forgive the convicted assassins of Ninoy even after serving more than 20 years in prison for a crime everybody knew they were just pawns used by the mastermind.
3. Feeling for the Poor.
70% of populations are poor and no nation can progress with a hungry population. Chances, only to be born poor can one truly feels for the poor. Pacquiao, born poor himself, believes this and chooses Villar. 80% of the economic wealth is cornered by 5% of the population. The inclusion of Satur Ocampo and Liza Masa in his lineup indicates Villar serious commitment to this problem. He belongs to the elite but once also belongs to the masses. This unique position makes him understand and can give a good solution to this problem. Housing for the poor and improving their lives is his dream and campaign battle cry. Building houses is his business and forte.
He is the perfection of Erap and FPJ. What these two gentlemen lack Villar more than fills them up.
The candidates:
Villar – He rose from rags to the 8th riches in the country, congressman to speaker, senator to senate president, front runner candidate, philanthropist, top business leader, – all these are testimony of his ability and leadership. He is a very religious person, a compleat family man, a loving father and a faithful husband despite his good look. This again speaks of his good character. His life is full of achievements for he had purposely prepared himself for the grand task to lead the country to change and progress.
Noynoy – a 50 years old bachelor enjoying life with no commitment, no management experience, no remarkable achievement whatsoever as a congressman and senator or significant charitable activities except for his name Aquino and his promise of no corruption and good governance. However all presidential candidates promised this since 1949. All failed including his late mother. Under Cory’s presidency, the country and the masses suffered except for them and supporters. Compared to Marcos everything got worse including corruption. Remember the 10 hours daily brownout and the Kamag-anak Inc.? The same groups that governed the country with Cory are the same groups supporting Noynoy today.
Gibo – Intelligent, eloquent and bar topnotcher like Marcos, Diosdado Macapagal et al but the country was worst after their terms.. He is the candidate of Gloria’s Lakas Party. His presidency will just be a continuation for them. As head of NDCC that supervise, prepare and help the public against natural calamities Ondoy showed his managerial incompetence. 3 dams released water without warning the public although they had 12 hours to do so. Lifeboats cannot even be located. P100B properties lost by government estimate. Hundreds of lives lost.
Erap and the others – They will divide the opposition votes like what Lacson did that embolden GMA and her group to steal the election from FPJ. History might repeat itself.
Conclusion:
Among the candidates all agreed Villar is the best qualified in all aspects. Only rumors of business ethics and character assassination is poisoning the mind of many. He has the capacity to succeed. If he did he can be hailed as the greatest Filipino. Villar will not waste this golden opportunity of greatness.
The country is at the crossroad of its destiny – either to stagnation or to progress or chaos. Gloria is a real threat March 19, 2010 Philippine Star … Jarius Bondoc warned in his article “Be aftraid: GMA staying on” “The Supreme Court’s allowing Arroyo to name the next Chief Justice, coupled with other omens, brings the nation closer to a no-proclamation scenario. Arroyo can hold on to power as Speaker and Acting President”. March 26, 2010 Philippine Inquirer … Headline “GMA Has Numbers to Win Speakership – PDI Survey shows she could get 159 votes. 135 just needed to win” March 27, 2010 Philippine Inquirer … Headline “It’s a Win-Win for GMA – speaker or not GMA is trouble to successor”
For the love of country let us unite behind Villar and give him a resounding majority to silence any evil plans by Gloria, her supporters, her generals and even her Supreme Court. Elect all his candidates from Loren, senators to congressman. Villar needs them to institutes meaningful changes for many will oppose. The forces of Gloria, the defeated political parties, the elite who enjoyed special favors etc. etc. and again the Supreme Court might joined forces to topple him as it had happened to Erap in 2002.
Don’t waste your vote on your non winnable candidate. There are moments in the history of a nation that its people must sacrifice and unite. This election is one of the moment.
The choice is clear. The country needs a Villar.

- If Bangladesh can gather 42,000 volunteers for disaster response, the Philippines can surely put together enough manpower from its 89 million population to become environment and community leaders. We need dedicated, passionate and dynamic volunteers to fight climate change and deal with its cruel consequences such as extreme weather events.
- Our country has now been relieved of the looming tsunami threat, but we still have to be careful, especially those living in coastal towns. It’s an era of changing climate patterns, so don’t lose vigilance.
- Sa lahat ng aking kabaro, mga nanay at mga kapwa babae, happy Women's Month. Women are instrumental to nation-building and powerful agents of change. Let us work together in pushing for rights of women, the devt of our youth and protection of the environment.
- Rising temperature and little rainfall has caused oxygen depletion in the water, killing fish. This is another huge blow to the livelihood of our fishermen and farmers. Government should extend special support to them if they are to weather this crisis.
- Now is the time to pay attention to what our planet is telling us. Now is the time to think of ways to stop the destructive effects of climate change. Clearly, this is an issue that affects us all and I will continue to fight for this cause.
- Climate change, an effect of which is the prolonged El Niño, presents severe problems for a country that is highly reliant on agriculture for livelihood and sustenance. We have to think long term in addressing environmental problems and climate change.
- Supports Katribu partylist founded by 25 grassroots indigenous peoples' organizations from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao that champions the environment, culture and rights of indigenous peoples to ancestral lands.
- Filipinos have brilliant minds and talent, but there is a serious need to fix the compensation package to attract doctors and nurses to stay in our country. Hospitals and medical centers must practice corporate social responsibility by taking care of their own medical workers and not just looking at their profit margins.
- Kailangan nating suportahan ang "vegetable industry" upang masiguro na meron tayong sapat at de kalidad na pagkain. If our people are healthy, they will have more energy in life and in working towards a progressive nation.
- Thank you to everyone in Visayas for the warm welcome! Our week-long Visayan campaign brought us to places in Capiz, Iloilo and Cebu. We already feel like winners with the overwhelming show of support. Daghang salamat! To cap our visit, we even had the chance yesterday to visit the "Enchanted House" in the beautiful and popular tourist spot, Bantayan Island in Cebu.
